I'm Shay, founder of Marigold Branding and your guide on the "Passion to Profit" course. Early on in my career, I stumbled upon a powerful truth: passion is the secret to success. In my 20’s. I had a deep love for photography and travel. Before I knew it, I was a freelance photographer jet-setting across the globe, capturing images for leading companies and non-profits. I was living my dream, making a great living, and it never felt like work at all.
As my life goals shifted, so did my passions. When I craved a change and the desire to start a family, I tapped into another creative wellspring – painting and textile design. With just a laptop and the power of online learning (think YouTube tutorials!), I launched a successful textile line, "Bunglo," that graced the shelves of renowned retailers like Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdales, and Anthropologie. And my travel photos, sold out at Anthropologie in 24 hours, connecting one passion to the next. My vision was to build and then sell the business within 10 years, which I proudly achieved in 2024.
The entrepreneurial spirit never truly sleeps. As I transitioned from Bunglo, I reconnected with another burning passion: helping others. Witnessing the spark in the eyes of friends who asked, "How do I start a business?" or "What if I could work for myself?" ignited a fire within me. "I wish I could work for myself, but I don't know what I'd do," was a common refrain. That's why I channeled my passion into building a branding agency, helping individuals step into their entrepreneurial power and craft compelling brands and websites that convert. This venture thrived, reaching six figures within the first year and scaling ever since.
The most significant reward, however, has been the time freedom I've intentionally cultivated. Imagine the flexibility to be present for your child's weekly field trips, working just a few hours a day, or embarking on month-long vacations – all while maintaining a thriving business and a comfortable lifestyle. This is the reality I've created for myself, and it's all thanks to aligning my passions with purpose. It’s hard to say without know the specific business, audience and goals. For reference, courses can be anywhere from $30 - $5000 and pdf libraries can sell items ranging from $10 - hundreds. I’ve had clients make $60K a month to $125K a month on courses, and $10-20K on subscriptions. It depends on your ad budgets, existing audience and your dedication to building buzz around your offering, all of which we’ll share more about with resources in the course!
